Motorsport Medicals in London and the Home Counties

Artensia Medical Services provides Motorsport UK-compliant medical examinations for drivers applying for or renewing competition licences. Based in Marylebone, London, we serve competitors across London, Surrey, Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire, Berkshire and the wider Home Counties.

Assessments are carried out by Dr Christopher Levy, a GMC-registered occupational health physician with experience in motorsport medical requirements. Appointments are available including evenings, with results and paperwork issued promptly to support your licence application without delay.

Who requires a motorsport medical?

Many motorsport governing bodies require drivers to undergo a medical assessment to confirm fitness to compete.

This may apply to:

• race licence applications

• licence renewals

• higher-grade competition licences

• drivers returning after illness or injury

What does the medical involve?

The assessment is designed to ensure that drivers are medically fit to participate safely in motorsport.

The medical typically includes:

• review of medical history

• general physical examination

• assessment of cardiovascular health

• vision assessment

Additional tests may be required depending on the licence category.

✅ Standard Motorsport Medical:

  • Detailed medical history review

  • Height, weight and BMI check

  • Blood pressure measurement

  • Urinalysis (protein and glucose check)

  • Vision testing (including colour perception)

  • Physical examination

  • Completion and certification of your Motorsport UK medical form

✅ Resting ECG:

Required for:

  • National licence holders aged 60+

  • International licence holders of any age

✅ Exercise Stress ECG:

Required for:

  • International licence holders aged 50+

  • National licence holders aged 70+ (and every 2 years thereafter)

If needed, we’ll arrange a treadmill stress test (Bruce protocol) with a cardiologist, with the report returned promptly for form completion.
