Taxi Medicals
All new and existing taxi drivers need to go through a medical check to ensure they are medically fit to safely drive a taxi on public roads. Each local council will have certain medical requirements you will need to meet to demonstrate you are fit to drive.
Taxi medicals are completed to a Group 2 medical standard. as such a taxi driver medical examination typically includes the following:
1. A review of your medical history including your GP medical records.
2. Physical examination e.g. weight, height, blood pressure and pulse.
3. Examination of specific body systems
4. Vision Test including visual acuity and peripheral vision test
5. Urine Test (if required by the council)
6. ID review – such as passport or drivers licence
